Sabine James

Sabine's love for teaching reaches back to 1989, when she taught aerobics in Germany in the first gym of her small hometown. While studying kinesiology and sports medicine at the J.W. Goethe University, she started teaching dance and muscle conditioning in Frankfurt to supplement her income. When Pilates classes were offered at the University for the first time by Susan McLain, a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Co, Sabine was there. She was addicted at the first class, and it has been her passion ever since. While studying, Sabine was introduced to the ball workout in 1998, and, recognizing the huge benefit, she started team teaching ball- and Pilates classes in various gyms in the area. She got her Pilates certification in 2001 from Long Beach Dance Conditioning and has been teaching mat- and equipment classes ever since. Sabine truly believes that the combination of both classes kept her in shape, not only through her two pregnancies, but more importantly now, when her busy schedule with two young children leaves her with no more than 3 hours per week to work out. Workout efficiency is essential, and Sabine is thrilled that she gets to share her passion on a daily basis.
